ROCHELLE DANCEL
DIRECTOR / WRITER / PRODUCER
Originally trained as an actor and writer, Rochelle is a Multimedia Content & Events Producer. Rochelle has worked with teams that have produced a range of events including the Molson Indy champ car race in Toronto, two gala performances of V-Day in London, Richmond CultureFest in Virginia, USA, and recently, the Cultural Olympiad for London 2012. A postgraduate from Goldsmith's Media & Communications department, Rochelle's current and recent projects include brand and website consultancy for the charities Tender and the London Centre for Personal Safety; the development of the Canadian concept web series B.J. Fletcher: Private Eye, for which she is Associate Producer; and creating marketing content for the re-brand of a FTSE 250 company. Rochelle also sits on the project committee of the Take Back The Tech campaign in the UK with Cath Kane.
CATH KANE
PRODUCER
Cath is the Domestic Violence Co-ordinator for the London Borough of Brent. An export from the advertising and marketing worlds, Cath has been working in the violence against women sector for over ten years, three of which have been spent at Brent. Cath’s innovative approach to her work has previously involved her commissioning the documentary of survivors’ stories, Short Stories, Long Lives. Cath also sits on the project committee for the Take Back The Tech campaign in the UK.
SHAN KILBY
PRODUCER
Shan is the Specialist Domestic Violence Co-ordinator for Brent. Shan’s talent, persuasiveness and resourcefulness has been invaluable to progressing Brent Talking Heads and nothing has happened on the project without Shan's involvement in some way. Shan has kept the sugar flowing during filming; driven us around the borough between locations, to meetings and up to Newport; composed music for our outtake reel and organised the launch event. Frankly, the rest of us were fairly superfluous to requirements.
MANDY CARPENTER
CAMERAS & SOUND / PRODUCER
Mandy qualified in filmmaking up to masters level and has been making films since 1994. She made a number of films in Bosnia and spent time with a number of the people trying to cope with life in a county torn apart by war and also with a number of organisations from the outside working within, attempting to restore peace at a political level as well as groups offering aid at a civilian level. Having worked with Women’s Aid, Mandy made a film in 2004 entitled ‘Living Hell’. This film looked at real women’s experiences of domestic violence and how they had overcome their ordeals and began new lives. The film was funded by the UK Film Council and broadcast on BBC2 Wales. Within PiliPala Films, Mandy works primarily as a writer, producer and director. She has dealings with the media as well as local councils, arts development, community and sports development, and the youth service.
