Development
The producers came together to develop a tool that would best illustrate this process from the survivor’s point of view to be used alongside existing training materials, both in-house and about the court system, that would be accessible to new as well as existing members of staff within the service providers across the voluntary and statutory sectors, and that would celebrate the achievements of Brent SDVC.
As such a narrative could not have been written without the survivor’s voice, it was decided that the fictionalised experience of a survivor would provide the central narrative best captured on film. Reconstruction scenes were added to give depth to the narrative, to highlight the confusion, challenges and quandaries faced by the survivor from the point of the 999 call on their journey through and after the court system, but also to illustrate the working that goes on between the partner agencies. The narrative is enhanced through commentary from representatives of partnership agencies.
