In the three weeks that followed our first Heads meeting, favours were called in and drinks were promised to secure the rest of the Heads team.

Mandy Carpenter and Mike Thomas of Pilipala Films were convinced by their old friend Shan to lend their technical expertise to the project. Sarah Nuth, our talented Make-Up Designer, was selected from many submissions after Rochelle posted a request to the London College of Fashion. Regan Latimer, a former colleague of Rochelle's, joined the project to provide the original music soundtrack and gained her first European credit.

Make Up

In the meantime, Rochelle wrote and adapted the script from the original presentation. Professional actors were auditioned from the BSA Actor Training Programme whilst colleagues and family members were roped in and cast in additional roles. Cath and Shan ensured that locations were booked, logistics were organised, schedules were set, agency representatives were approached and secured to take part, all with a liberal helping of general panic and hysteria.

With the exception of Priya's monologues, all of the footage featuring actors was filmed in one 12 hour day. The morning was spent at Brent Magistrates Court, home of the Specialist Domestic Violence Court. The court room scenes were filmed in the special measures court. Other rooms at the courthouse, including one of Witness Service's rooms and an interrogation room, were turned into the sets for the various offices of the CPS, Advocacy Project and Probation, whilst Shan's office was taken over for make-up, food and beverages. The scenes in the couple's flat were filmed in the afternoon and evening at a residential location in Brent. The interviews and Priya's monologues were filmed at Wembley Health Centre and a generic court room at Brent Magistrates Court on the second day of filming.
